Docklands Light Rail (DLR) is a modern railway system situated in eastern London.

DLR is an excellent example of nowaday mass transport system. The stations are very comfortable for passangers. They are equipped with lifts and escalators so that even disabled passangers can easily use the trains. The system is integrated with other means of transport – there are 34 stations and in seven of them is possible to take subway, in seven passanger train and in two stations airport bus. City transport tickets are valid (tickets for DLR only are available, too). Stations are also equipped with electronic information tables and phones. But the most important is that almost everything is automatic. The only workers of DLR I met were conductors because the trains have no drivers.

The trains consist of two very long cars which have control equipment at both ends.
