The electric train on a photo at the side has a very familiar look for everybody living in postsoviet area. The production of RVR (Rigas Vagonu Rupnica — Riga's Carriage Plant) was very widely used in SU. In Riga trains are still green as we remember them from numerous films telling melodramatic stories about everyday life of soviet people. Latvians have shorten their trains to four cars but most of trains seem still to have six cars (for a comparision, in Saint Petersburg the same trains have ten cars).
